It’s not your imagination, the world is moving faster and faster all the time.

Here we are at the end of another incredibly eventful year.

There is so very much going on in the world right now and more is being added all the time.

There have been ups and downs galore this year, but that’s become par for the course in the 2020’s.

But, through all of the noise and the hardships it becomes even more important to focus on the things that are in our control and not worry about the rest.

Easier said than done, of course, but important to practise nonetheless.

As we sign off for another year we’ll leave you with some advice on how to do that and how to get the most out of this crazy but thrilling experience we call life.

Focus on the fundamentals.

Getting our health and wellbeing right is mostly about doing the basics, and the basics have the incredible advantage of being simple, mostly free, and well within our control.

Prioritise getting quality sleep, move your body meaningfully every single day, and eat plenty of veggies and lean protein. If you do that, everything else will seem much simpler and easier.

Work on meaningful connection.

Meaningful connections are amongst the most valuable things we have and working on strengthening them pays huge dividends for ourselves and those we connect with.

Spend time with those you care about, communicate more than you think you should, don’t be afraid to be vulnerable, and work on sharing deeper bonds than what’s on the surface.

Your life will be richer and brighter for it.

Practise gratitude.

Even through the struggles we often face, there is an enormous amount to be grateful for.

The joys of spending time with loved ones, the taste of a delicious meal, the feeling of curling up on the couch watching a good movie, even just the simple fact that you’re alive and able to experience the world.

Never forget how incredible it is to be here and to be you and practice feeling grateful for all the things you have, instead of upset about all the things you don’t.

Look for joy and you’ll find it.

Ever notice that as soon as someone mentions a yellow car you start seeing them all the time? There aren’t more yellow cars on the road than before they mentioned it, but your brain is now primed to notice them, so it seems like they’re everywhere.

The same is true of sadness and strife, but the same is also true of kindness and joy.

Look for examples of it throughout your day and you’ll start seeing it everywhere.

This year has been a crazy one but it’s also been an incredible one for so many reasons.

We want to thank each and everyone of you for your attention and your input, no matter what that’s been.

We have so many fantastic things lined up for next year and we can’t wait to share them with you all.
